Ohio State Coach Resigns
Clarice Taylor -- known for her role as Bill Cosby's mom on "The Cosby Show" -- died of heart failure on Monday.

Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel, who has been under intense scrutiny the past few months for several issues involving his program, resigned today.

With 16 produced and aired episodes, the eighth season of the CBS comedy Two and a Half Men is more than eligible for a best comedy series Emmy Award. But the veteran sitcom, which has been the subject of controversy surrounding now-former star Charlie Sheen, won’t be in the running.
Sean Kingston has been transferred from the trauma unit to the intensive care unit at Jackson Memorial Hospital -- where he is in critical condition, but has been stabilized ... this according to his rep.
Snooki was taken into custody in Florence, Italy on Monday after crashing into a police car .

A New York congressman says a lewd photo sent to a college student from his Twitter account was posted by a hacker - and he's hired a lawyer to investigate, his office said Tuesday.
Mark-Paul Gosselaar is officially back on the market ... now that a judge has finalized his divorce from Lisa Ann Russell.

California's state assembly has passed a bill that would extend tax breaks to film and television productions for at least five more years, the Los Angeles Times reports. The bill passed with a 72-1 vote.

Ghost Hunters gets renewed
Molly Sims is getting married. The actress and jewelry designer is engaged to Love and Other Drugs producer Scott Stuber, her rep tells People.

Shaq calls it a career

CBS News chairman Jeff Fager rejected Lance Armstrong's demand for an apology over a story that raised doping allegations, saying it stands by its report as "truthful, accurate and fair." Armstrong's attorneys demanded an on-air apology from "60 Minutes" on Tuesday over allegations on the show's May 22 episode that Armstrong tested positive for a banned substance at the 2001 Tour de Suisse.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is pulling out a big gun for his inevitable divorce battle with Maria Shriver ... officially hiring attorney Bob Kaufman -- who's already tackling some touchy issues of the split. 
After 19 years in the NBA, Shaquille O'Neal is officially retiring ... and he made the announcement on a video he posted through his Twitter page.

Mere minutes after NBC canceled freshman thriller The Event on the unlucky Friday, May 13, show creator Nick Wauters and executive producer Steve Stark told fans that there was a chance the drama could continue elsewhere. That possibility is now taking shape. Sources confirm that Syfy is in talks to pick up The Event as a miniseries.

Jennifer Hudson is joining the Farrelly Brothers' forthcoming update of "The Three Stooges" as a nun, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She'll co-star alongside comedian Chris Diamontopoulos as Moe, Sean Hayes ("Will and Grace") as Larry, and Will Sasso ("MADtv") as Curly. Larry David ("Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Whatever Works"), Stephen Collins ("7th Heaven") also star. Jane Lynch ("Glee") will play the Mother Superior of the convent in which Hudson's character will reside, and the Stooges spend part of the film. Holy déjà vu, Batman! Starting Aug. 31, DC Comics will begin a sweeping re-launch all 52 of its titles, the company said on its official blog Tuesday. The first title to get a reboot is "Justice League," whose issue No. 1 will present a contemporary take on the origin of superhero team-up of Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and other beloved caped and uncaped crusaders.

Kelsey Grammer has just filed legal docs that make it clear ... he's given up hope that he can settle his custody battle with Camille Grammer and he wants a judge to settle it once and for all.

In a finding that might seem to run contrary to conventional wisdom, smaller daily newspapers are leading the way in charging for content online by a nearly 2-to1 margin compared to their bigger-circulation counterparts. The University of Missouri recently interviewed more than 300 newspaper publishers and discovered that, while 46 percent of daily newspapers with circulations under 25,000 charged for at least some of their online content, only 24 percent of the dailies with circulations higher than 25,000 currently do so.

X-Men: First Class opens in theaters

"X-Men: First Class" banked a strong $3.4 million in midnight showings, according to studio estimates.

Giovanni Ramirez -- the guy who is suspected of beating a San Francisco Giants' fan to a pulp outside Dodger Stadium -- just lost a big round in his fight to get out of prison.

Katie Couric could announce as early as Monday a move to ABC that would include a syndicated daytime talk show and contributions to ABC News, a person familiar with the negotiations tells TheWrap.
Sorry, Wisconsin; U.S Rep. Anthony Weiner won't be poking around in your area this weekend. The recently embattled Congressman, who has been struggling to regain control of his image after a photo of an erect penis was sent out via his Twitter account, has canceled his scheduled Friday speech at Milwaukee's state Democratic Convention, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Charlie's leaving the show for good
Charlie Harper -- Charlie Sheen's character on "Two and a Half Men" -- will probably get a "French kiss off" from creator Chuck Lorre.  Worry not ... we'll explain. During the last original episode that aired February 14, Harper and his stalker/neighbor Rose were headed for the airport to catch a flight to Paris. it's likely Lorre will use the flight to rid the show of Charlie Harper once and for all.   And get this -- the flight was never intended to be a cliffhanger -- it just happened that was the last episode shot before Charlie Sheen melted down.

Dr. Death dies

Dr. Jack Kevorkian, who became known as Dr. Death for his work performing assisted suicides for terminally ill patients, died early Friday morning. He was 83.

With his daughter Cate standing behind him, John Edwards spoke out Friday after pleading not guilty to using campaign money to cover up his mistress and love child.

NBC is reviving "Fear Factor," the reality show that boasted challenges ranging from daring to gross. "Fear Factor" aired on NBC from 2001 to 2006 with host Joe Rogan. The network said Thursday it's ordered new episodes but didn't announce an air date or whether Rogan would return.

MTV Movie Awards Brings out the Stars

The 2011 MTV Movie Awards were filled with several shocking moments.
At the MTV Movie Awards, Reese Witherspoon HATES everything Kim Kardashian stands for -- from the sex tape to the reality show.
The mother of Whitney Purvis -- who was featured on the first season of "16 and Pregnant" -- was arrested early this morning for possession of marijuana and meth.

A bit more than a year after beginning, Cameron Diaz and Alex Rodriguez's relationship seems to have struck out. "They broke up a few days ago. He ended it," a source tells People amid reports of a split.
